Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026
The short version
- We only text people who called one of our clients first.
- We never sell personal information, and we never share mobile numbers or text-messaging consent with anyone for marketing.
- Reply STOP to any message and you won't be texted again.
1. Who we are
Granite Signal Systems is a trade name of Julia Lynn Consulting ("we," "us"). We provide a missed-call text-back service for home service contractors. When a caller can't reach one of our clients, our automated text assistant replies by text, asks a few questions, and sends a summary to the client so they can call back.
This policy covers two groups of people:
- Callers: people who call a business that uses our service and receive texts from us on that business's behalf.
- Clients and site visitors: contractors who use our service, and anyone who visits granitesignalsystems.com or contacts us.
When we text callers, we act on behalf of the business they called. That business's own privacy policy also applies to how it uses the information we send it.
2. Information we collect
From callers
- Your phone number and the time of your call.
- The content of your text conversation with the assistant, such as the service you need, your address, and your availability.
- Any photos or files you choose to send.
- Whether you have opted out of texts.
From clients and site visitors
- Contact and business details you give us, such as your name, company, email, phone number, services, and service area.
- Information you provide when booking a call through our scheduling page.
- Billing information, which is handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
- Basic website usage data, such as pages visited and browser type, collected through our website platform and cookies.
3. How we use information
- To reply to missed calls, ask the questions our client has approved, and send the client a lead summary.
- To flag urgent or safety-related messages to the client immediately.
- To monitor and improve conversation quality, and to fix problems.
- To produce monthly reports for clients.
- To provide, bill for, and support our service, and to respond when you contact us.
- To comply with the law and with telecommunications carrier requirements.
Our text assistant is automated and says so in its messages. Conversations are processed by software, including AI models provided by our technology vendors, to generate replies and summaries. We do not use caller information to market our own services to callers.
4. Text messaging
Callers receive texts only after calling a business that uses our service. Message frequency depends on the conversation, and message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. You'll get one confirmation message and no further texts.
- For help, contact us using the details below.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The sharing described in section 5 excludes this information, except as needed to deliver the service to the business you called.
5. How information is shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only:
- With the business you called, which receives the lead summary and conversation so it can follow up with you.
- With service providers that help us run the service, such as our texting and phone provider, hosting, AI model providers, scheduling, and payment processing. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our clients, callers, or others.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, subject to this policy.
6. How long we keep information
We keep conversation records for [EDIT: 12 months] so we can support our clients and improve the service, then delete them. Opt-out records are kept as long as needed to honor them. Client account and billing records are kept as long as the account is active and as required by law.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, such as the right to know what we collect or to appeal a decision about your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We may need to verify your identity, and we may keep certain information when the law requires it.
If you texted a business that uses our service, you may also contact that business directly about the information it holds.
9. Children
Our service is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated to clients directly.
